According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 5:15 a.m. on the eastbound 8 Freeway near the Imperial Highway off-ramp.
Imperial County, CA. – One person was airlifted to the hospital after a car accident that happened Wednesday morning near Ocotillo in Imperial County.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash occurred around 5:15 a.m. on the eastbound 8 Freeway near the Imperial Highway off-ramp.
The Imperial County Sheriff's Office, the US Border Patrol, and American Medical Response (AMR) responded to the scene after receiving reports of the collision.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a silver Scion TC veered off the roadway for an unknown reason and came to rest on the other side of a barbed-wire fence.
The female driver was found by the responders near the roadway.
A REACH medical helicopter was dispatched to the scene. The victim was airlifted to Desert Regional Medical Center with major injuries.
Authorities are investigating the accident.
