Salinas, CA.- One person was killed in a two-vehicle collision near Salinas in Monterey County on Friday afternoon, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident took place on Highway 101 near Hartnell Road at about 3:07 p.m.
The CHP reported that a semi-truck was traveling southbound on Highway 101 when it tried to make a left turn and was hit by a northbound pickup truck.
The pickup truck was pinned underneath the big rig's trailer after the crash.
One party involved in the accident was killed.
There were no further details on the accident.
The California Highway Patrol is conducting an investigation into the collision.
