Jackson County, OR – One person was killed and another was injured after two vehicles collided on Interstate 5 in Jackson County Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities said a woman was driving a black Honda Civic northbound on I-5 when, for some reason, the vehicle left the roadway and crashed into a parked Freightliner semi-truck and trailer.
On Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at about 2:50 p.m., Oregon State Police responded to a two-vehicle fatal crash in Jackson County near Ashland.
A passenger in the Honda suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Honda was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries.
The highway was shut down for about five hours as investigators worked at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
