The driver of a 2003 Toyota Sequoia was heading eastbound on 44th Street when they failed to see a pedestrian walking eastbound on the roadway
Yuma, AZ. – The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office has identified the woman who was struck and killed by a vehicle on E. 44th Street in Yuma Tuesday morning.
Ada Torres, 56, of Yuma, was hit and seriously injured by a vehicle along East 44th Street. Torres was taken to Yuma Regional Medical Center where she later died.
Preliminary investigation revealed a 2003 Toyota Sequoia, traveling eastbound on 44th Street, failed to see Torres who was walking eastbound on the roadway. The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and called 911.
Yuma, AZ. – On Tuesday morning, authorities received reports on a deadly pedestrian accident in Yuma.
The Yuma County Sheriff’s Office said the fatal auto-pedestrian crash happened at around 6:12 a.m. in the 12000 Block of E. 44th Street.
Per the report, a 2003 Toyota Sequoia, traveling eastbound on 44th Street, collided with a pedestrian walking in the same direction for unknown reasons.
The victim was transported to Yuma Regional Medical Center, where they later died while receiving treatment.
The identity of the deceased was upheld pending notification of the next of kin.
More details about the collision were not provided.
An investigation is ongoing.
