Apple Valley, CA. – A woman was airlifted to a trauma center Tuesday morning after a mishap on Highway 18 in Apple Valley.
The CHP Victorville Station received reports about the accident on State Route 18 near Milpas Drive at around 9:15 a.m.
As per the reports, the woman was driving an eastbound white Toyota Camry when, for unknown reasons, she drifted into the westbound lanes and collided with a Double Eagle truck trailer nearly head-on.
The woman suffered severe injuries and was taken by ambulance to St.Mary's Medical Center before being flown to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The truck driver suffered minor injuries in the accident.
The incident impacted both directions of the highway for about an hour during the on-site investigation.
