The woman was riding an unknown type of scooter when she was struck by a vehicle under unclear circumstances.
Emergency personnel transported the victim to the hospital in critical condition.
The driver of the car stopped and remained at the scene.
Investigators closed the roadway through late Wednesday night following the crash.
Another woman riding an electric scooter was hit and killed by a box truck last week in the city on Alhambra Boulevard.
