The 67-year-old pedestrian ran out in front of two cars near South Brookhurst Road and West Oak Avenue
Fullerton, Calif. – A woman was fatally hit by a car Tuesday afternoon near an intersection in Fullerton, the Fullerton Police Department reported.
Police officers responded to South Brookhurst Road and West Oak Avenue after receiving reports of the collision around 5:11 p.m.
The officers found a 67-year-old Fullerton woman in the roadway with traumatic injuries.
Fullerton firefighters responded and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
Officers conducted a preliminary investigation and found out that two cars were involved in the accident.
A black GMC Sierra driven by a 36-year-old Anaheim man was heading south on Brookhurst and a blue Nissan Rogue was traveling northbound on the same road with a 65-year-old Fullerton woman behind the wheel.
Authorities said the female pedestrian ran eastbound from the southwest corner of the intersection across Brookhurst. She ran out in front of both cars.
The driver of the GMC was able to yield for the pedestrian, but she was hit by the Nissan. The victim was thrown into the GMC and into the intersection.
Investigators did not immediately determine the factors that may have contributed to the accident.
