San Jose, CA. – A woman who was hit by a garbage truck about four months ago in East San Jose died Thursday at a local hospital, authorities said.
According to the San Jose Police Department, the woman was hit around 9:40 a.m. on Feb. 8 at South White and Tully roads.
The pedestrian was walking across South White Road outside of a marked crosswalk when a gray 2008 Peterbilt garbage truck making a right-hand turn from northbound South White Road onto eastbound Tully Road struck her.
The woman was taken to a local hospital, where she died Thursday, May 30. Her identity was not released pending next of kin notification by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner's Office.
The driver of the garbage truck remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
