William Laird Ort Killed in Tucson Motorcycle Crash on W. Ajo Way and S. 6th Avenue

, AZ.– An elderly man died days after being involved in a motorcycle collision in Tucson, according to the Tucson Police Department.

The crash took place at about 3:00 p.m. July 22, on W. Ajo Way and S. 6th Avenue.

Police said William Laird Ort, 80, was riding a motorcycle westbound on Ajo Way when he tried to make a left turn onto northbound 6th Avenue and was hit by a westbound 2018 Grand Jeep Cherokee that ran a red light.

Ort was taken to a hospital and was pronounced deceased on July 27.

The other driver was cited for failure to stop for a red light.

The accident is under investigation.
