Buttonwillow, CA. – The Kern County Coroner's Office has identified 70-year-old Susan Lorraine Insch as elderly killed in a traffic collision on Highway 33 in Buttonwillow on September.
According to the CHP the crash occurred at around 3:40 p.m. on State Route 33 near Soda Lake Road.

Insch was the front passenger of a Tundra and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Maricopa, CA. – A 70-year-old woman was killed in a traffic collision that sent another victim to hospital Monday afternoon on Highway 33 in Maricopa near Buttonwillow.
According to the CHP, the crash occurred at around 3:40 p.m. September 23 on State Route 33 near Soda Lake Road.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a 24-year-old Bakersfield man was driving a semi-truck southbound on the highway when, for unknown reasons, he drifted into the northbound lanes and collided head on with a Toyota Tundra.
The woman, who was in the front seat of the car, was declared deceased at the scene while the driver, only identified as 72-years-old, was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.
The truck driver sustained minor injuries and was treated at the location.
Drugs and alcohol did not appear to be factors in the crash, said officials.
An investigation is ongoing.
