Bellingham, WA – The San Washington State Police has identified 24-year-old Sean Smet of Bellingham as a pedestrian fatally injured in a Tuesday night crash in Bellingham.
The crash happened at around 6:45 p.m. January 7 on the northbound 5 Freeway near Bellis Fair Mall.
A preliminary investigation revealed a northbound car on the freeway overturned, before going across to the southbound lane, and struck Smet.
Smet was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver, a 36-year-old Mount Vernon woman, was not hurt.
No additional information about the crash was available.
The incident remains under investigation.
