Morgan Hill, CA. – The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner's Office identified Robert Andrew Valderama, 35, of Morgan Hill, as the man killed in a multi-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon at Live Oak Avenue in Morgan Hill.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash happened just before 2 p.m. November 14 at Live Oak Avenue and Monterey Road.
Reportedly, the man was driving southbound on Monterey Road in a 2018 Honda and ran a red light at the intersection. At the same time, a 2017 Freightliner was making a left turn onto Monterey Road from eastbound Live Oak Avenue when both vehicles collided.
The CHP said the impact caused the Honda to veer into the northbound direction of Monterey Road, where it crashed into a 1993 Jeep waiting to turn left onto Live Oak Avenue. Debris from that crash hit a 2016 Ford behind the Jeep.
The drivers of the Jeep and the Honda were taken to area hospitals, where Valderama died of his injuries.
Alcohol and drugs did not appear to play a role in the crash.
No additional details regarding the mishap were available.
The incident remains under investigation.
