Fremont, CA. – 31-year-old Nicholas Karaberis died in a pedestrian collision that happened Tuesday morning near an intersection in Fremont, the coroner's bureau reported.
The Hayward man was struck by a vehicle around 5:15 a.m. on Decoto Road at Brookmill Drive.
According to the Fremont Police Department, Karaberis was crossing Decoto Road outside a marked crosswalk when a car heading east on Decoto Road, approaching Brookmill Drive, hit him.
Responding paramedics pronounced Karaberis dead at the scene.

Fremont, CA. – A 31-year-old Hayward man died when he was struck by a vehicle Saturday morning near an intersection in Fremont.
According to the Fremont Police Department, the incident occurred around 5:15 a.m. at Decoto Road and Brookmill Drive.
Authorities said the pedestrian was crossing Decoto Road outside of a marked crosswalk when he was struck by a car traveling eastbound on Decoto, approaching Brookmill Drive.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver stopped and stayed at the scene.
Police officers are investigating the collision.
