According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported at around 5:51 p.m. January 1 on Encinitas Boulevard at Valley Park Way, east of Cerro Street.
Encinitas, CA – The San Diego Coroner's Office has identified a bicyclist who died of his injuries after a crash on Encinitas Boulevard in Encinitas last week Wednesday as Marcos Domingo Perez, 45, of Encinitas.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the crash was reported at around 5:51 p.m. January 1 on Encinitas Boulevard at Valley Park Way, east of Cerro Street.
According to a preliminary investigation, Perez was riding a bicycle eastbound on Encinitas Boulevard when a Hyundai sedan collided with him just east of Cerro Street.
Perez was rushed to a local hospital where he was admitted and his condition deteriorated and was pronounced dead three days later.
No additional details about the incident were provided.
An investigation is underway.
