Joshua Escandon Dies in Bakersfield Pedestrian Accident on Chester Avenue at Sandra Drive
Bakersfield, CA. – The Kern County Coroner's Office has identified 27-year-old Joshua Gabriel Escandon, of Bakersfield, as a pedestrian fatally hurt on Chester Avenue in Bakersfield about two weeks ago.
According to a police report, the accident happened at around 11:51 p.m. August 18 on Chester Avenue at Sandra Drive.
Police said Escandon was standing in the street outside of a crosswalk when he was struck.
Escandon died of severe injuries sustained in the wreck.
The driver cooperated with police.
Speed and impairment were not believed to be factors in the crash, said BPD.
An investigation is underway.

Bakersfield, CA. – A man died after he was struck by a car late Sunday night near an intersection in Bakersfield.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the collision took place around 11:50 p.m. on South Chester Avenue and Sandra Drive.
Police officers responded to the scene and found a man with severe injuries.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the victim was reportedly standing in the roadway outside a crosswalk when he was hit by a car.
The driver involved stopped and cooperated with investigators.
