Gutierrez was driving a northbound 2020 Nissan Altima when, for unknown reasons, he drifted into the southbound lanes and collided head on with a 2015 Honda Civic headed south.
Orcutt, CA. – Jordan Gutierrez, 26, of Santa Maria was identified as the man seriously injured in a crash that killed a 79-year-old Santa Maria woman on Highway 135 in Orcutt midday Monday.
The California Highway Patrol responded to the collision at Highway 135 and East Foster Road shortly before noon.
Gutierrez was driving a northbound 2020 Nissan Altima when, for unknown reasons, he drifted into the southbound lanes and collided head on with a 2015 Honda Civic headed south.
Gutierrez and the female driver of the Honda Civic were transported to the hospital with serious injuries, where the woman was declared deceased.
No additional details regarding the mishap were provided.
An investigation is underway.
