, CA. – The Medical Examiner's Office identified the wrong-way driver who died in a crash on the Foothill (210) Freeway near Pasadena as 22-year-old Jeffrey Mejia Rodriguez.

The head-on collision occurred around 3:10 a.m. on the westbound side of the freeway near Allen Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the Los Angeles man was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Camaro eastbound in the westbound HOV lane when he collided head-on with a westbound 2021 Ford F-150 pickup truck.

Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the pickup, a man, was hospitalized with a possible fracture of his left wrist. His passenger, a 50-year-old Burbank woman, complained of pain to her neck and back.

The collision had previously been reported to have involved multiple vehicles.

, CA. – One person died, and another was hospitalized after a multi-vehicle collision triggered by a wrong-way driver that happened early Sunday morning in Monrovia.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the pileup occurred around 3:10 a.m. on the Foothill (210) Freeway at North Allen Avenue.

Authorities said a motorist was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of the freeway when a crash involving multiple vehicles happened in the area.

Emergency personnel pronounced one person dead at the scene.

Another victim was taken to the hospital in unknown condition.

The carpool lane and the No. 1 lane of the westbound freeway were closed around 3:25 a.m. until about 7:47 a.m. following the collision.
