San Jose, CA. – The Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner's Office identified the elderly woman who was fatally struck by an SUV Wednesday morning in San Jose's Stonegate neighborhood as Florence Taylor.
The 89-year-old San Jose woman was hit by the vehicle around 6:34 a.m. near Sherlock Drive and Kimball Drive. The scene is about a block east of Stonegate Park and near the northwestern end of the Los Lagos Golf Course.
According to investigators, Taylor was crossing the street near the intersection when she was hit by a black 2004 GMC SUV traveling northbound on Sherlock Drive.
Taylor was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
The man driving the car stopped and cooperated with investigators.
