Two People Killed in Head-On Collision on Highway 160 in Sacramento

Sacramento, CA. – The Coroner's Office identified the two people who died in a Saturday morning head-on collision on Highway 160 in Sacramento.

John Patrick Malley, 26, of Antioch, and Jessica Lee Hay, 29, of Rio Vista died in the accident.

The collision took place around 12:15 a.m. on the southbound side of the highway at Sherman Island Road.

Malley was driving a gray 2001 Nissan SUV south on Highway 160, and a 33-year-old man was driving a silver 2004 Lexus SUV north on the highway.

Investigators said the Nissan crossed into the opposite side and collided head-on with the Lexus.

Malley died in the crash.

Hay, a passenger in the front seat of the Lexus, also died in the collision.

The man driving the Lexus was hospitalized with major injuries.

Three other passengers in the rear seats of the Lexus, a 2-month-old girl, a 5-year-old girl, and a 10-year-old boy were also hospitalized with major injuries.

The California Highway Patrol said they are investigating alcohol as a contributing factor.

Sacramento, CA. – Two people were killed in a head-on collision on State Route 160 in Sacramento early Saturday morning.

According to the authorities, the incident happened at around 12:15 a.m. on May 11 on Highway 160 at Sherman Island Road.

Reports indicated that a man was driving a southbound grey Nissan SUV on the highway when for unknown reasons he veered into the northbound lane and collided head-on with a silver Lexus SUV.

The Nissan driver and a female passenger both died from their injuries. A three-month-old child and a five-year-old were taken to a Bay Area hospital with unknown injuries.

The driver of the Lexus had major injuries and was taken to an East Bay hospital.

Police said alcohol might have played a factor in the crash.

The identities of the victims were not immediately disclosed.
