Officers say a dune buggy, driven by Ramirez, was traveling on Westlawn with no lights when it collided with a semi-truck going east on Belmont.
Fresno, CA. – The Fresno County Coroner's Office has identified 22-year-old Miguel Ramirez Jr. and 27-year-old Christopher Fernandez of Fresno as two victims killed in an early Wednesday morning crash at an intersection in Fresno.
The California Highway Patrol said the collision happened before 1 a.m. at Belmont and Westlawn Avenues.
Officers say a dune buggy, driven by Ramirez, was traveling on Westlawn with no lights when it collided with a semi-truck going east on Belmont.
Both Ramirez and Fernandez were declared dead at the scene. It is not known if drugs or alcohol were factors in the crash.
An investigation is ongoing.

Fresno, CA. – Two men were killed in a collision involving a dune buggy early Wednesday morning in Fresno County.
The double-fatal crash happened around 1 a.m. near Belmont and Westlawn avenues, according to the California Highway Patrol.
A tanker truck was traveling east on Belmont Avenue when it hit a dune buggy that was traveling south on Westlawn Avenue.
The dune buggy was dragged about 100 yards down the road.
CHP reports that two unidentified men inside the buggy were killed in the accident.
The truck driver was unhurt.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
