The 16-year-old Wellpinit boy had sustained serious injuries in the crash at the intersection of State Route 2 at Wood Road
Spokane County, WA – The Washington State Police are investigating a Wednesday morning crash that left a 16-year-old boy dead on Highway 2 in Spokane County.
The collision occurred at around 7:18 a.m. January 8 at the intersection of State Route 2 at Wood Road.
According to the Washington State Patrol (WSP), a southbound vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection, driving under the trailer of an oncoming westbound semi-truck.
The car's driver, Cicherski, was transported by ambulance to Sacred Heart Medical Center with injuries.
The two juvenile passengers in the car, a 16-year-old male from Wellpinit, Washington, and a 13-year-old male were also taken to the hospital. Sadly, the 16-year-old passenger succumbed to his injuries later that day.
An investigation is underway.
