According to the Washington State Police, the crash happened at around 6:15 p.m. on State Route 520 at Montlake Boulevard East.
Responding crews located multiple vehicles at the crash site.
Two people suffered severe injuries in the mishap.
WSDOT said all westbound lanes were blocked and traffic was being diverted off the bridge at
Montlake Boulevard/Lake Washington Boulevard.
Drivers were asked to find alternate routes.
An investigation is underway.
