Reportedly, a black two-door sedan was moving at a high rate of speed when it crashed into a tow truck driver who was out of the truck during a multi-car crash.
Costa Mesa, CA. – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a serious injury multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 55 in Costa Mesa early Monday morning.
The mishap was reported at around 2:30 a.m. on the northbound Costa Mesa (55) Freeway just south of the San Diego (405) Freeway.
Reportedly, a black two-door sedan was moving at a high rate of speed when it crashed into a tow truck driver who was out of the truck during a multi-car crash.
The truck driver suffered serious injuries, including the loss of his left leg, the CHP said.
It was not clear how many vehicles were involved in the crash.
No additional information about the crash was provided.
An investigation is ongoing.
