Child Dies After Being Struck by Car on West Cypress St. in Santa Maria

Santa Maria, CA. – A 1-year-old child died after being struck by a vehicle Sunday afternoon in Santa Maria, the Santa Maria Police Department said.
The incident was reported just after 1 p.m. in the 600 block of West Cypress Street.
Police officers, firefighters, and paramedics responded to the scene shortly after receiving reports of the accident.
The child was rushed to Marian Regional Medical Center. Despite life-saving measures, the toddler was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The report did not mention details about the manner and cause of the accident.
