Spring Valley, California (September 14, 2021) – A pedestrian died after being hit by a vehicle Monday night near a grocery store in the La Pressa area of Spring Valley, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The fatal crash was reported at around 9:45 p.m. Monday, September 13, in the area of Jamacha Boulevard and Gillespie Drive, just east of Route 125 and north of the Spring Valley Swap Meet Site.

According to the CHP, a vehicle struck the pedestrian under unclear circumstances in the area.

The pedestrian, whose name has not been disclosed pending notification of family, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the vehicle involved stopped at the scene after hitting the pedestrian.

No further details regarding the crash were immediately given.

The collision remains under investigation.
