Lemon Grove, CA. – A 44-year-old San Diego woman died last week almost a month after she was struck by a vehicle near an intersection in Lemon Grove, the San Diego County Medical Examiner said.
The incident occurred around 8:03 a.m. on August 5 in the area of Buena Vista Avenue and North Avenue near the undercrossing of the bridge of the eastbound State Route 94.
According to the San Diego County Sheriff's Department, the pedestrian was walking in the area when she was hit by a vehicle.
The driver stopped and called 911.
Emergency personnel responded to the scene and transported the woman to Scripps Mercy Hospital for treatment. The patient's condition deteriorated, and she died on August 30.
The accident is being investigated by the sheriff's department.
