Tempe, AZ. – A woman was killed in a wrong-way collision that happened on Sunday night in Tempe.
The fatal collision happened around 11 p.m. on the westbound lanes of US 60 near the Interstate 10 Freeway interchange, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
Samantha Ramirez, 23, was driving a car eastbound in the westbound lanes of the highway when she collided head-on with an oncoming car.
Ramirez, a resident of Tempe, was pronounced dead at the accident scene.
The occupants of the westbound vehicle were taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
