Coachella, CA. – 37-year-old Robert Villa has been identified as the pedestrian who died after being struck by a car on Tuesday night in Coachella.
The fatal auto-pedestrian accident happened around 10:50 p.m. in the area of Gateway Center and Grapefruit Boulevard, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Coachella man was reportedly struck by a vehicle on the roadway in unclear circumstances.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene by the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner's Bureau.
The driver of the involved car stayed at the accident scene and cooperated with the police.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
