Richard Nichols Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard in Los Angeles
San Diego, California (September 8, 2021) – A pedestrian died after being hit by a car in San Diego on Tuesday morning.
The fatal pedestrian accident happened on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard at Mercury Street at about 5:40 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
62-year-old Richard Floyd Nichols, of San Diego, was walking across Clairemont Mesa Boulevard when he was hit by a Subaru driven by a 40-year-old driver.
Nichols was injured in the accident and was transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital where he died while undergoing treatment, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner's Office.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
