Ricardo Aguilar Killed in Bakersfield Pedestrian Accident on Bank Street and Holtby Road

Bakersfield, CA.- Ricardo Aguilar, 8, died after being struck by a vehicle in central Bakersfield on Wednesday afternoon, according to the authorities.

The tragic accident happened in the area of Bank Street and Holtby Road at about 1:45 p.m. on October 16.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, Aguilar was walking eastbound across Bank Street in an unmarked croswalk when he was struck by a car near Roosevelt Elementary.

Aguilar was rushed to Kern Medical, where he was pronounced dead on Friday morning.

The woman driving the car stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

The Bakersfield Police Department is investigating the crash.
