According to the Coroner's Office, Serpa was killed in a vehicle collision at about 8:30 p.m. on Monday, July 29 on I-5 and Nees Avenue near Firebaugh.

Fresno County, CA – The Fresno County Coroner's office has identified an 84-year-old man who was killed in a crash earlier this week on a stretch of the I-5 in Fresno County as Raymond Serpa of Sacramento.
According to the Coroner's Office, Serpa was killed in a vehicle collision at about 8:30 p.m. on Monday, July 29 on I-5 and Nees Avenue near Firebaugh.
According to the CHP, Serpa was driving a 2005 Ford southbound in the number two lane of 5 Freeway at Nees Avenue at a slow rate of speed when made a sharp left turn causing a collision with the front of a northbound 2012 Chevrolet. The Ford caught fire following the collision.
Coroner's Office said Serpa was pronounced dead at the scene at the scene.

Firebaugh, CA. – One person died Monday night in a traffic collision that happened on southbound Interstate 5 in Firebaugh, the California Highway Patrol said.
Authorities received reports of the crash around 8:30 p.m. just north of the Nees Avenue off-ramp.
2-3 vehicles were involved in the crash, including a blue sedan that caught fire.
CHP said one person died in the accident.
All southbound lanes were shut down until around 10:06 p.m. following the collision.
