Pedestrian Struck by Car in Santa Barbara

Santa Barbara, California (September 26, 2023) – A woman was struck by a vehicle Tuesday afternoon in Santa Barbara.

According to the Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the incident happened around 3:30 p.m. on a private driveway on the 2900 block of Foothill Road.

The car hit the woman after the driver mistakenly hit the gas pedal instead of the brakes.

The woman was trapped underneath the vehicle. Airbags were used to free the victim, who was transported by an AMR ambulance to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital with minor injuries.

The identity of the victim was not disclosed.
