Mesa, AZ.- One person was killed in a pedestrian crash in Mesa on Monday morning, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
The accident took place on Loop 202 Red Mountain near Alma School Road at about 6:30 a.m.
According to the report, a pedestrian was struck by at least one vehicle in the westbound lanes of Loop 202 Red Mountain.
The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The westbound lanes were shut down as authorities investigated the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
