, CA.- A was struck and injured by a vehicle in Santa Monica on Sunday night, according to the Santa Monica Police Department.

The crash took place in the 2400 block of Wilshire Boulevard, just east of Chelsea Avenue, at about 8:25 p.m. on January 5.

A homeless man in his 60s was reportedly struck by a vehicle in the area.

The victim was transported to a hospital and was expected to survive.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators.

According to police, drugs and alcohol were not suspected to have played a role in the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
