Napa, CA.- A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle in Napa on Tuesday morning, according to the Napa Police Department.
The crash took place at around 5:30 a.m. at Soscol Avenue and Third Street.
Police said a pedestrian pushing a shopping cart was hit by a vehicle at the intersection.
Emergency crews performed life-saving measures on the victim but the pedestrian died at the scene.
The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with investigators.
The intersection was shut down for nearly five hours following the accident.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
