The California Highway Patrol said the crash occurred around 7:21 p.m. on southbound Interstate 215 at the 3rd Street on-ramp.
A pedestrian was struck by a blue BMW 540I under unclear circumstances.
First responders found the victim lying down in the on-ramp lane.
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.
The car was towed away for evidence.
CHP officers are investigating the collision.
