Man Killed in Nimitz Boulevard Pedestrian Crash in San Diego

, CA. – A died after he was struck by a vehicle Thursday morning near an intersection in Point Loma, San Diego police reported.

The incident occurred around 6:18 a.m. on Nimitz Boulevard near Chatsworth Boulevard.

Police officers and firefighters responded to the scene after receiving reports of a pedestrian accident with serious injuries.

The responders found an unconscious male pedestrian with a serious head injury. The man was taken to UCSD Medical Center in Hillcrest, where he later died from his injuries, San Diego Fire-Rescue said.

The man was reportedly crossing the street when he was hit by a red Kia.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
