The CHP reported that Paul Weldon of Fresno, 64, was driving a Lexus ES300 northbound in the southbound lanes of the highway when he collided head-on with a Ford F-150 driven by Mariana Perez Tinajero, 73, of Selma
Fresno, CA.– The two people who were killed in a crash in Fresno on Saturday morning have been identified.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred on Highway 99, just south of Shaw Avenue, at about 7:15 a.m. December 28.
The CHP reported that Paul Weldon of Fresno, 64, was driving a Lexus ES300 northbound in the southbound lanes of the highway when he collided head-on with a Ford F-150 driven by Mariana Perez Tinajero, 73, of Selma.
Both drivers were killed in the crash.
Five other occupants of the Ford were taken to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment of moderate to major injuries.
A 26-year-old man driving a third vehicle involved in the crash was treated at the scene and released.
It's unclear whether alcohol or drugs played a role in the accident.
The investigation is ongoing.
