Longtime teacher killed in Highway 12 multi-vehicle collision near Fulton Road in Santa Rosa
Santa Rosa, CA. – Pat LaFortune has been identified as the man who died in a multi-vehicle collision that left nine other people in Santa Rosa on Thursday morning
The fatal crash happened on Highway 12 near Fulton Road at around 11:50 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol.
A big rig reportedly failed to stop on Highway 12 as it approached a traffic light and caused an eleven-vehicle crash.
A pickup truck driven by LaFortune caught fire after the crash.
LaFortune was killed in the accident, according to the Santa Rosa Fire Department.
He was a longtime teacher and coach at Cardinal Newman High School in Santa Rosa.
Three people suffered major injuries, and six had minor injuries and were transported to three different Sonoma County hospitals.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
