Brian Gimbert Killed in Palisades Tahoe Accident During Snowmaking Operation

Olympic Valley, California (November 10, 2023) – The Nevada County Sheriff’s Office identified the Palisades Tahoe worker who died Thursday morning in Olympic Valley as Brian Gimbert.
The 34-year-old Tahoma man was involved in a work accident involving a snowmobile during overnight snowmaking operations on the Alpine side of Palisades Tahoe.
Gimbert was last seen around 5 a.m. at the resort. He was then found around 6:30 a.m. by an unspecified person.
He was taken to Tahoe Forest Hospital in Truckee, where he was pronounced dead at 7:20 a.m.
Dee Byrne, the President and COO of Palisades Tahoe said they have stopped mountain operations while they mourn the death of their coworker.
The incident is being investigated by CHP and Cal OSHA.
