Nicholas Hanson Injured in Fatal Vacaville Collision on Interstate 80
Vacaville, California (August 12, 2021) – Nicholas Hanson, 33, of Rohnert Park was hospitalized after a collision that left one person dead in Vacaville early Thursday morning, the California Highway Patrol said.
At around 4:54 a.m., CHP said a 33-year-old Alameda woman was driving a Toyota Camry on Interstate 80 when she drifted into the center median at the interchange of Interstate 505.
The Toyota then swerved back into the roadway and crashed into a Hyundai Ioniq.
A short time later, the Toyota was struck by a Honda Civic, a Volkswagen, and a GMC Sierra.
The operator of the Toyota was ejected by the impact of the wreck and died at the scene.

Hanson was the driver of the Volkswagen. Hanson and the driver of the Hyundai were both taken to Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in Vacaville for treatment of minor injuries.
The other involved parties were unharmed in the accident.
The cause of the crash is under investigation by the CHP.
