Alameda, California (September 8, 2021) – The man who was killed Monday night in a traffic collision in Alameda has been identified as Nicholas Bianchi, 27, according to authorities.

The collision occurred shortly after 8:00 p.m. September 6, on Cambridge Drive at Fernside Boulevard.

According to the report, a car heading northbound on Cambridge Drive failed to yield at the intersection and t-boned a car heading west on Fernside Boulevard.

Due to the impact, the westbound vehicle slammed into a residential home in the area.

Nicholas Bianchi Killed in Alameda Car Crash on Cambridge Drive 

Bianchi was the driver of the westbound car and was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The other driver also sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital.

The intersection of Cambridge Drive and Fernside Boulevard was closed for several hours during the investigation. 

Authorities said the driver of the northbound car was suspected of drunk driving. He was arrested for DUI and gross vehicular manslaughter.

The crash remains under investigation.
