Nealson Hanner Killed in Buttonwillow Crash on Interstate 5 near Seventh Standard Road

Buttonwillow, California (September 9, 2021) – Nealson Carlos Hanner, 32, of Bakersfield has been identified as the man who was killed Tuesday morning in a rear-end collision in Buttonwillow, the authorities reported.

The collision occurred just before 7:20 a.m. September 7, on Interstate 5, just north of Seventh Standard Road.

According to the authorities, a Toyota Tacoma was traveling in the slow lane of I-5 at approximately 65 miles per hour when it was rear-ended by a Dodge Ram 1500 pickup.

The impact caused the pickup to veer off the road and it flipped over.

Hanner, who was the driver of the pickup, was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene. 

No further details were released.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
