According to the authorities, the collision occurred at around 6:55 a.m. on North, north of Van Buren Boulevard.

Per the report, an off-duty Cal Fire RIV firefighter was rear-ended on the right shoulder by a second car in unclear circumstances.

The second driver suffered injuries, but the extent of the injuries was not released.

The victim was transported by ground ambulance to the hospital for treatment.
