Orange, CA. – A motorcyclist was severely injured after getting trapped underneath a semi-truck Thursday evening in Orange, the California Highway Patrol said.
The accident was reported around 6:07 p.m. on westbound State Route 22 just east of The City Drive.
A rider on a Civic motorcycle collided with a semi-truck under unclear circumstances.
The motorcyclist went down and got pinned underneath the rear of the semi-truck. The bike was blocking the No. 4 lane.
Police officers and firefighters responded to the scene and blocked all the westbound lanes of the freeway.
The motorcyclist sustained severe injuries in the crash. The patient was taken to UCI Medical Center in unknown condition.
All lanes were reopened around 7:42 p.m.
CHP officers are investigating to determine the cause of the accident.
