14-Year-Old Killed in Newhall Crash on Railroad Avenue and Oak Ridge Drive

Newhall, CA.- A motorcyclist was killed in a head-on collision in Newhall on Saturday night, according to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station.

The accident took place on Railroad Avenue and Oak Ridge Drive at around 9:49 p.m. January 4.

A 14-year-old boy was reportedly riding a dirt bike motorcycle northbound on southbound Railroad Avenue when he collided head-on with an oncoming van.

The boy fell off the dirt bike and was then hit by a second vehicle.

The boy was trapped under the second vehicle that struck him.

Emergency crews gave the boy onscene treatment before transporting him to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital with critical injuries.

However, the boy was pronounced deceased at the hospital at 7:32 a.m. on Sunday morning.

The boy's name was not immediately released.

Authorities are investigating the wreck.
