A Calstar medical helicopter landed on the highway and airlifted the male rider to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment.

Lompoc, CA. – A motorcyclist was airlifted to the hospital with severe injuries after a collision that happened Monday evening between Lompoc and Gaviota.
The incident occurred around 6 p.m. on Highway 1 near Santa Rosa Road.
A motorcyclist and a passenger car were possibly involved in the crash that left the rider with major injuries.
The Santa Barbara County Fire Department, the Lompoc Fire Department, and California Highway Patrol officers responded to the scene.
A Calstar medical helicopter landed on the highway and airlifted the male rider to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment.
The highway remained closed for about half an hour to allow the helicopter to land.
CHP Buellton Area Office is investigating the accident.
