Phelan, CA. – Authorities are investigating a serious injury motorcycle collision at an intersection in Phelan Saturday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at around 11:59 a.m. at Phelan and Colfax Roads.
A preliminary investigation revealed the motorcyclist was illegally passing other vehicles when he collided with a white Mercedes-Benz CLK 430 attempting to make a left turn onto Colfax Road.
The impact ejected the rider from his motorcycle, causing his helmet to come off, before landing several feet away in the roadway.
He was initially transported by ambulance to the nearby Stater Bros shopping center, where he was then airlifted to Arrowhead Regional Medical Center for further treatment of serious injuries.
