Melinda Kobold Killed in Tonopah Crash on Interstate 10

Tonopah, CA.- One of the victims killed in a multi-vehicle collision in Tonopah on Saturday afternoon has been identified as Melinda Kobold of , according to the authorities.

The incident took place at about 1 p.m. on March 1, on near milepost 88.

Police reported that an RV pulling a trailer, four passenger vehicles, six commercial vehicles, and a van, were involved in the collision.

Some of the vehicles involved caught fire following the crash.

Kobold was one of four people who died due to the collision.

Two people were hospitalized with critical injuries while a third person was hospitalized with less serious injuries.

Five other parties were treated and released at the scene.

The freeway was shut down for hours as authorities investigated the incident.

Blowing dust is suspected to have played a role in the incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
