Riverbank, CA.- The man who was killed in a head-on collision in Riverbank on Sunday evening has been identified by the Stanislaus County Coroner's Office.
The deadly wreck happened at about 6:15 p.m. November 10, on Highway 108, just west of Snedigar Drive.
The authorities said Matthew Curtis McPherson, 47, of Modesto, was driving a 2012 Ford van westbound on State Route 108 when he crossed the double yellow lines and collided head-on with an oncoming 2024 GMC pickup truck.
McPherson was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The driver of the pickup, a 32-year-old woman from Oakdale, was transported to Memorial Medical Center for treatment of major injuries.
The three passengers in the GMC were taken to local hospitals with moderate to major injuries.
The California Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
